Prospect supplements
Designing client-led print supplements to accompany Prospect
Each year Prospect produces a series of supplements focusing on key policy areas in association with commercial clients. Covering a diverse range of subjects from Britain’s space industry and the housing crisis to cyber security and the UK’s place in the world after Brexit, the reports include contributions from journalists, academics, MPs and industry experts.
In 2019, I led a redesign of the reports to align their design more closely with the monthly magazine. The general feeling was that the reports had become unappealing to read and the design of the pages felt repetitive. The redesigned reports had more white space, allowing the content to breathe as well as more clearly labelled advertorial content to enable readers to differentiate it from editorial.
I also designed the cover artwork for the reports, creating attention-grabbing visuals distilling complex subjects into a single clear image. Cover artwork also flowed across the front and back covers creating a wider image when the report was opened.
Commercial clients on these reports included: BT, Coca-Cola, Octopus Group, The British Heart Foundation, The Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), Atkins, The Joseph Rowntree Foundation, Associated British Ports (ABP) and The City of London Corporation.
