Prospect is a monthly current affairs, culture and ideas magazine at the heart of intelligent debate in the UK.

Between 2015 and 2020 I was the magazine's Production Editor and Designer, working closely with the Creative Director to produce engaging and imaginative layouts for stories ranging from the challenges facing the Amazon rainforest and the future of Bitcoin, to why the world could enter a new arms race and the story of a woman helping children conceived via sperm donation track down their biological fathers. This involved having to represent complex stories and information in a way that would be engaging for readers in print and online.

Over time I sought to create more expansive and eye-catching editorial layouts to make each essay in the magazine feel different from the next while maintaining an overall cohesiveness.

I also illustrated short stories which were reintroduced to the print magazine at the same time as the production schedule change to include summer and winter double issues.

For our design work across the business, but specifically our efforts to increase the visual quality of the print magazine, the Creative Director and I were shortlisted for Best Art Team at the 2018 BSME Talent Awards.
